The Selective Corporate Internship Program, also known as SCIP, is a national award-winning 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. In 1997, SCIP was founded by Miguel and Monica McClure Mancebo, who are both successful entrepreneurs and former Corporate HR Executives.
Being well aware of the challenges faced by global young leaders, they developed a plan to train and connect high achieving students from multicultural environments to corporate partners and prepare them for successful careers in the corporate world and to create thriving businesses.
Our Story

About Us

Founder
Miguel Mancebo
We want our young leaders to soar in life. Every student who walks through our door is our future, so we treat them like they're taking over our legacy.
Founders
Founders Miguel and Monica McClure Mancebo are successful entrepreneurs and former Corporate HR Executives with a wealth of experience in career transition services and talent acquisition. The Mancebos were aware of the lack of opportunities for young people, whose backgrounds might not allow them to consider careers in Corporate Business and STEM. They developed a plan to train and connect deserving students from diverse and disadvantaged environments with the corporate world.
The Mancebos in collaboration with their corporate supporters (many Fortune 500 companies) provide critical technical and essential skills training to these outstanding students, establishing a win-win situation for both the students and corporations. SCIP provides a long term strategy that enhances their education and prepares them to be tomorrow’s leaders.

Mission Statement
To "Enlighten, Employ, and Empower" diverse, highly-focused students for successful careers by developing their entrepreneurial mindsets and communicative skills through SCIP's corporate mentorship, leadership development, and hands-on collaborative team projects.
To enhance driven, multicultural, young adults' education of and interest in Entrepreneurship through their development of teamwork, social emotional, analytical skills, and laboratory skills as well as to create opportunities for new entrepreneurs or those seeking resources to grow their business and learn how to navigate through their entrepreneurial journey to achieve success in creating wealth.
