At its heart, the Summer Leadership Program and its partnership with the USTA is a testament to the transformative power of sports and its ability to build strong, capable leaders who are ready to take on the complexities of the world.

The games of tennis and golf served as metaphors for life’s challenges. Players learned that just as in these sports, life and business are rarely a straight line; success requires patience, strategy, and adaptability. They also practiced honesty, integrity, and collaboration—qualities that are indispensable for leadership.

Over the years, this initiative has helped shape participants into confident, well-rounded individuals. Many have gone on to excel in their academic and professional lives, becoming outstanding corporate citizens and role models in their communities.

For many participants from underserved communities—often single-parent households—this program was a gateway to vital guidance and situational awareness. It taught them grit, perseverance, and how to navigate the complexities of life.

In 2010, the Summer Leadership Program took a bold step in redefining leadership development by partnering with the United States Tennis Association (USTA). This initiative provided our global young leaders with an invaluable opportunity to learn and engage in the games of tennis and golf.
